Since then, there has been a huge growth in the number of radio stations. Spain has an estimated 35 million radios and radio has an average daily audience of 16 million people. There are many high-quality, public and private, local, regional, national and foreign radio stations in Spain. As the top tourist desination in the world for holidaymakers and expats alike, there are a plethora of English and other foreign-language commercial radio stations in major cities and resort areas where the emphasis is on music and chat with some news. Some expatriate stations broadcast in a variety of languages, including English, Dutch, German and various Scandinavian languages at different times of the day.
